Free teleconferences for Chinese facing cancer and support group for family members

FREE cancer educational seminars through teleconferences on the third Monday evening between 7-8 PM (Pacific Time) for Chinese cancer patients and family members. The seminar will be given in Mandarin and it is open to all States. More details can be found in the attached flyers.

In SouthBay, we also offer a support group for family members of Chinese cancer patients in our Milpitas office every Saturday between 10-11:30 AM. Please contact our office at 408-263-8585x102 to register.

Cancer organization launch first outline portal of Asian language cancer information
The Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness, Research and Training (AANCART) and the American Cancer Society ( ACS) have launched a searchable online database of Asian language cancer materials. The new Web resource, located on the American Cancer Society web site.

New Health Information Resource from Tufts for Asian-Language Speakers
Health resource for Asian Americans whose first language is not English website with detailed health information in seven Asian languages, specifically Chinese, Hmong, Khmer, Korean, Laotian, Thai and Vietnamese. It is a unique multi-language health information site because it is for both physicians and patients. <More Info>

Sister Study is looking for minority women with breast cancer.
The Sister Study is the only long-term study of women aged 35 to 74 whose sister had breast cancer. It is a national study to learn about environmental and genetic causes of breast cancer. In the next 3 years, 50,000 women who live in the US and who have had at least one sister with breast cancer and do not have breast cancer themselves will be asked to join the study. A CANCER PAIN RESEARCH PROJECT
The University of Texas at Austin's Dr. Eun-OK Im  is working on a new research project on Cancer pain. This project is being funded by NIH, to work towards the development of computer software to assist nurses' decision making on cancer pain. They are looking for  Asian-American cancer patients for internet surveys. The patients will be paid up to $ 50 of gift certificate for their participation in the project.
